Description

Baked Cheesy Potato Puffs are the ultimate comfort food – crispy on the outside, cheesy and fluffy on the inside. These irresistible bite-sized treats are perfect for parties, snacks, or as a delightful side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared and cooled)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin with cooking spray or oil.

2. Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, cheddar cheese, Parmesan, green onions, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, and salt. Mix until the ingredients are fully combined.

3. Shape and Coat: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Lightly coat each ball with the breadcrumbs.

4. Fill Muffin Tin: Place each coated ball into the prepared mini muffin tin.

5. Bake: Bake the Baked Cheesy Potato Puffs for 20–25 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy on the outside.

6. Cool and Serve: Allow the potato puffs to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the tin. Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauce or as a side dish.

Notes

Potato Selection: Use starchy potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold for the best mashed potato consistency.

Consistency of the Mixture: The mashed potato mixture should be thick and creamy, not too loose or watery. Adjust the amount of mashed potatoes as needed to achieve the right texture.

Baking Tip: Don’t overcrowd the muffin tin. Leave enough space between the potato puffs for even baking and crisping.

Alternative Cooking Method: For a quicker and healthier option, you can also air fry the Baked Cheesy Potato Puffs instead of baking them in the oven.
