Description

Baked French Dip Biscuits are a savory twist on the classic French dip sandwich. These golden biscuits are filled with tender roast beef and melted provolone cheese, then drizzled with a flavorful garlic-butter mixture before baking to perfection. Paired with a warm beef broth au jus for dipping, this dish is a delicious and comforting treat perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

  • 8 slices deli roast beef

  • 8 slices provolone cheese

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 cup beef broth

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.

  • Prepare the Biscuits: Separate the biscuit dough into 8 pieces and flatten each biscuit slightly.

  • Assemble the Biscuits: Place a slice of roast beef and a slice of provolone cheese in the center of each biscuit. Roll up each biscuit and place them seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.

  • Make the Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper.

  • Coat the Biscuits: Brush the butter mixture generously over the top of each biscuit.

  • Bake: Bake the biscuits for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

  • Make the Au Jus: While the biscuits are baking, heat the beef broth in a saucepan over medium heat until warm.

  • Serve: Serve the warm biscuits with the beef broth au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute turkey or chicken slices for the roast beef.

  • Feel free to swap provolone cheese with mozzarella or cheddar for a different flavor.

  • These biscuits are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
