Description
Trisha Yearwood’s Butterscotch Bars are a rich, buttery dessert with butterscotch chips, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cup butterscotch chips
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
2. In a large bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
3. One at a time, beat the eggs into the butter-sugar mixture, then stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
6. Gently fold the butterscotch chips into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
8. Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
Allow butter and eggs to come to room temperature for better incorporation.
Spoon flour into measuring cup and level off for accurate measurement.
Avoid overmixing to prevent tough bars.
