  • Author: Sofia Rojas
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 24 balls 1x

Description

Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls are the ultimate game-day snack, party appetizer, or anytime indulgence. These flavor-packed, bite-sized morsels combine savory sausage, melty cheddar cheese, and a touch of seasoning for a truly irresistible treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup biscuit mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.

2. In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, biscuit mix, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until they’re evenly distributed, taking care not to overmix.

3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls, using a small amount of water on your hands if the mixture is too sticky to work with.

4. Place the sausage balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

5. Bake the sausage balls for 18-20 minutes, or until they’re golden brown and cooked through.

6. While the sausage balls are baking, prepare the butter mixture. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, dried parsley, and Old Bay seasoning.

7. As soon as the sausage balls come out of the oven, brush them with the butter mixture.

8. Serve the Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls warm, and enjoy!

Notes

Use room temperature sausage for easier mixing and a more cohesive texture.

For an extra kick of heat, try adding 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the mixture.

Experiment with different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or smoked cheddar, to put your own spin on the recipe.
