Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 10–12 egg roll wrappers
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- High-heat oil for frying (vegetable, canola, or peanut oil)
Instructions
Prepare the Steak
In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced flank steak, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gently toss to coat the steak evenly, then let it marinate for 15 minutes.
Cook the Steak
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated steak. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
Assemble the Egg Rolls
On a clean surface, lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Place a few pieces of cooked steak and a generous amount of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese in the center. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides, rolling tightly and sealing the edge with a bit of water.
Brush with Garlic Butter
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with minced garlic. Brush this mixture over each assembled egg roll for added flavor.
Fry the Egg Rolls
Heat the oil in a deep pan or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Carefully add the egg rolls in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
Notes
These Cheesy Garlic Butter Steak Egg Rolls are best served warm with a variety of dipping sauces such as sweet chili, soy sauce, or ranch dressing. For storage, keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze uncooked egg rolls for later use.
