Description
Cheesy Ground Beef and Potato Casserole is a comforting dish that combines ground beef, creamy potatoes, and cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Grease a medium-sized baking dish.
2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, draining excess fat.
3. Stir in the salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano. Add the diced potatoes and beef broth, mixing well. Cook for about 5 minutes to partially soften the potatoes.
4. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is melted.
6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
Notes
Use starchy potatoes like Russet or Yukon Gold for best results.
Partially cooking the potatoes prevents them from becoming mushy.
Adjust baking times as needed based on your oven.
Experiment with different cheeses for added flavor.
