Description
Cheesy Meatball Marinara Casserole is a comforting and satisfying meal that combines savory meatballs, rich marinara sauce, and a blend of creamy cheeses, all baked together in a pasta dish.
Ingredients
- 1 lb cooked meatballs (homemade or frozen)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 box (16 oz) penne or rigatoni pasta, cooked
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, and 1 cup of marinara sauce. Stir until well-integrated.
3. Spread half of the pasta mixture in the prepared baking dish. Top with cooked meatballs and the remaining marinara sauce. Add the rest of the pasta mixture on top.
4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and edges are golden brown.
Notes
You can enhance the flavor by adding minced garlic, red pepper flakes, or fresh herbs like parsley or oregano. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
