Cinnamon-Sugar Layer:

½ cup granulated sugar

1 Tbsp ground cinnamon

Base & Topping:

2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent-roll dough

Cheesecake Filling:

16 oz cream cheese, softened

¾ cup granulated sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 large egg


Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Stir until well mixed and set aside.

3. Unroll one can of crescent-roll dough and press the seams together to form a solid sheet. Fit this dough into the bottom of the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the dough.

4. In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg until smooth and creamy. Spread this filling evenly over the cinnamon-sugar layer.

5. Unroll the second can of crescent-roll dough and press the seams together. Place this layer over the cheesecake filling, brush lightly with water, and sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.

6. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the top is puffed and golden brown. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, full-fat cream cheese and pure vanilla extract. This will enhance the flavor of your Churro Cheesecake Bars. If you want to experiment, try adding mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the cheesecake filling for a twist.
