  • 2 ½ tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ cup granulated sugar

  • ¾ cup buttermilk

  • 2 large eggs

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • Cinnamon Swirl:

    • ¼ cup brown sugar, packed

    • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon

    • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

  • Cream Cheese Glaze:

    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

    • 2 tbsp milk


Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 12-cup muffin tin.

  • In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and sugar.

  • In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  • For the cinnamon swirl, mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.

  • Fill each muffin cup halfway with batter. Add a spoonful of the cinnamon swirl mixture and top with the remaining batter.

  • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • While the muffins are baking, prepare the cream cheese glaze by whisking together cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

  • Once muffins are out of the oven, drizzle the glaze over them while they are still warm.

  • Serve and enjoy!
