Description

Flaky, cheesy biscuits stuffed with a rich, creamy Cajun-spiced crab mixture—these Crab Stuffed Cheddar Bay Biscuits are the ultimate comfort food mash-up. Perfect for brunch, potlucks, or anytime you’re craving buttery goodness with a seafood twist!

Ingredients

For the Biscuit Dough:

  • Southern biscuit flour

  • Buttermilk

  • Shredded cheese

  • Garlic powder

  • Butter shortening

For the Crab Filling:

  • Lump crab meat (reserve some for stuffing)

  • Cajun seasoning

  • Garlic powder

  • Onion powder

  • Mayonnaise

  • Yellow mustard

  • Crushed crackers

Instructions

  1. Make the Biscuit Base: Cut butter shortening into the biscuit flour until the texture is crumbly.

  2. Add buttermilk, shredded cheese, and garlic powder. Stir until just combined. Optional: Shape using a 4-inch springform pan.

  3. Mix the Crab Filling: In a bowl, combine lump crab, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, mayo, mustard, and crushed crackers. Set some crab aside for extra stuffing.

  4. Assemble the Biscuits: Flatten a scoop of dough, spoon the crab mixture into the center, and fold the edges over to seal.

  5. Bake: Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 18–22 minutes or until golden.

  6. Serve: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle herbs if desired. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne to the crab filling.

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for mayo for a lighter twist.

  • Use pre-made biscuit dough to speed up prep time.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container and reheat in the oven for best texture.

  • Great as an appetizer, snack, or a full meal!
