Description
Creamy Jalapeño Chicken Skillet is a one-pan wonder that blends the richness of a cream-based sauce with the kick of fresh jalapeños, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy gatherings.
Ingredients
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Olive oil
Diced onion
Minced garlic
Sliced jalapeños
Chicken broth
Heavy cream
Shredded cheddar cheese
Paprika, salt, and black pepper
Fresh cilantro
Instructions
1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook chicken for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken and set aside.
2. 2. In the same skillet, add diced onion and sliced jalapeños. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
3. 3. Pour chicken broth into the skillet and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream and cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens slightly.
4. 4. Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and sauce is smooth and creamy.
5. 5. Return cooked chicken to the skillet, coating in the creamy jalapeño sauce. Sprinkle fresh chopped cilantro on top.
Notes
For an extra spicy kick, swap cheddar cheese for pepper jack or Monterey Jack.
Use boneless, skinless chicken thighs for a juicier option.
Add diced bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms for extra nutrition.
Increase jalapeños or add hot sauce for more heat, or use milder peppers for a less spicy version.
To make it dairy-free, use a non-dairy milk alternative and vegan cheese. For gluten-free, serve over gluten-free grains or cauliflower rice.
