Description

Dive into the irresistible world of Crispy Broccoli Cheese Bites – a mouthwatering snack that combines the nutritional power of broccoli with the gooey goodness of melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (+ extra for coating)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. First, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat if you prefer to fry the bites.

2. In a large bowl, combine the finely chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, ½ cup of breadcrumbs, eggs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

3. Take a tablespoon of the broccoli cheese mixture and shape it into small, round bites or nuggets, ensuring they are all a consistent size for even cooking.

4. Lightly roll each bite in all-purpose flour, then coat them with the extra breadcrumbs to create a crispy outer layer.

5. Place the coated Crispy Broccoli Cheese Bites on a parchment-lined baking sheet, drizzle or brush them with a bit of olive oil, and bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they’re golden brown and crispy.

6. Alternatively, you can fry the bites in a skillet with a tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they’re crispy and golden brown.

Notes

These Crispy Broccoli Cheese Bites are delicious on their own, but they also pair wonderfully with a variety of dipping sauces. Ranch dressing, marinara sauce, and even spicy sriracha mayo are all excellent choices to amplify the flavors.
