Ingredients
- 2 pound beef stew meat
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 2 cup beef broth
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoon cold water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Season the beef stew meat lightly with salt and pepper.
2. Place the seasoned beef in the slow cooker and add the onion soup mix, beef broth, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and dried thyme. Stir until well combined.
3. Cover and cook on low for 7-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
4. In the last 30 minutes of cooking, whisk together cornstarch and cold water to create a slurry. Stir this mixture into the Crock Pot to thicken the gravy.
5. Serve the beef and gravy over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
For added heartiness, consider adding diced potatoes, carrots, or mushrooms to the slow cooker. Adjust seasoning to taste.
