Description
Flaky Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are the perfect bite-sized snack or appetizer that combines the classic flavors of pepperoni, mozzarella, and pizza sauce, all wrapped up in a buttery, flaky puff pastry shell.
Ingredients
- 2 sheets puff pastry (about 14.1 ounce)
- 4 ounce pepperoni slices
- 8 ounce shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1 tablespoon dried Italian herbs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon milk
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheets and roll them out slightly to smooth them out.
3. Evenly spread the pizza sauce over each sheet of puff pastry. Then, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese, pepperoni slices, Italian herbs, and garlic powder over the sauce.
4. Tightly roll each sheet of puff pastry into a log, then slice the logs into 1-inch pieces. Place the sliced pizza rolls cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
5. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush the egg wash over the tops of the pizza rolls, then sprinkle on any optional toppings you’d like.
6. Bake the Flaky Pepperoni Pizza Rolls for 18-22 minutes, or until they’re golden brown, puffed, and flaky.
7. Serve the piping hot pizza rolls warm, with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
