  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions

1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.

2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5–6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the chicken and set it aside.

3. Lower the heat to medium, then add the butter to the skillet and melt it. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 45 seconds until fragrant.

4. Pour in the chicken broth, thyme, and red pepper flakes. Scrape up any browned bits from the skillet. Let the sauce simmer for 3–4 minutes to reduce slightly.

5. Return the chicken to the skillet, including any juices. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, spooning the sauce over the chicken.

6. Before serving, squeeze the lemon juice over the chicken and garnish with chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes
