Description
Gordon Ramsay’s steak marinade is a masterful blend of bold flavors that transforms even the most ordinary cut of meat into a mouthwatering culinary experience.
Ingredients
- 2–3 steaks (about 1 inch thick)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the mixture is well combined.
2. Place the steaks in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, and pour the marinade over them, ensuring each steak is evenly coated.
3. Seal or cover the container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for a deeper, more pronounced flavor.
4. Remove the steaks from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
5. Heat a heavy skillet or grill to smoking hot, then sear the steaks for about 2-3 minutes per side, depending on your desired level of doneness.
6. Spoon some of the reserved marinade over the steaks during the last minute of cooking, if desired.
7. Once the steaks are seared to perfection, transfer them to a plate, tent loosely with foil, and let them rest for 5 minutes.
Notes
For the best results, do not marinate the steaks for longer than 2 hours to avoid a mushy texture.
Pair the marinated steaks with roasted vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
