Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
- 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
- 1/3 cup honey
- Kosher salt to taste
- Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
- Green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)
Instructions
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Lightly dredge them in flour.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F/74°C). Remove chicken and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
- Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and coat them evenly with the sauce. Let them simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot with rice or your favorite side.
Notes
- For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
- You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
- Be careful when sautéing garlic as it can burn quickly.
