  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • Green onions, thinly sliced (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Season both sides of the chicken breasts with kosher salt and freshly cracked black pepper. Lightly dredge them in flour.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook for 6-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should be 165°F/74°C). Remove chicken and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
  • Stir in soy sauce, rice vinegar, and honey. Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  • Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and coat them evenly with the sauce. Let them simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  • Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot with rice or your favorite side.

Notes

  • For an extra kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts for a juicier result.
