Indulge in the Irresistible Flavors of an Italian Crescent Roll Sandwich Bake
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 1 cup provolone cheese, sliced
- 1/2 pound ham, sliced
- 1/2 pound salami, sliced
- 1/2 cup pepperoni, optional
- 1/2 cup roasted red peppers, sliced
- 1/4 cup banana peppers, optional
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, optional
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
2. Unroll one can of crescent rolls and press them into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pinching the seams together to form a solid crust.
3. Layer half of the provolone cheese over the crescent roll crust.
4. Add a layer of ham, then salami, and top with pepperoni if desired. Sprinkle the roasted red peppers and banana peppers (if using) over the meat layer.
5. Top the vegetables with the remaining provolone and mozzarella cheese slices, then sprinkle the Italian seasoning over the cheese layer.
6. Unroll the second can of crescent rolls and place them over the top of the layered ingredients, stretching gently to cover and pinching the seams together.
7. Brush the top with the beaten egg. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and sesame seeds (if using).
8. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. Allow the bake to cool for 5 minutes before slicing into squares and serving warm.
Notes
To achieve a golden-brown crust, thoroughly brush the top with the beaten egg before baking.
Feel free to experiment with different varieties of deli meats and cheeses to suit your taste.
If you have leftovers, cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
