Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 4 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup kimchi
- 1 cup cucumbers, sliced
- 1 cup carrots, julienned
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup green onions, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro (optional)
Instructions
1. Marinate the flank steak in soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.
2. Heat a skillet or grill to medium-high heat and sear the marinated steak for 4-5 minutes per side until desired doneness.
3. Let the steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing it against the grain into thin strips.
4. Divide the cooked rice into individual bowls and top with sliced steak, kimchi, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, and green onions.
5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and add fresh cilantro if desired.
Notes
For variations, substitute flank steak with ribeye or sirloin. For a vegetarian option, use grilled tofu or portobello mushrooms.
