Description
Loaded Truffle Mushroom Mac is the ultimate in creamy, cheesy comfort food. Earthy mushrooms and luxurious truffle make this dish unforgettable.
Ingredients
1 lb pasta (elbows or cavatappi)
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 tsp truffle oil
2 tbsp truffle butter
8 oz fontina, shredded
4 oz gruyere, shredded
2 oz sharp white cheddar, shredded
8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1/3 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 tbsp grated parmesan
Salt and pepper to taste
Dash of nutmeg
Instructions
1. Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2. Sauté mushrooms in olive oil until golden. Set aside.
3. In a separate pan, melt butter, whisk in flour to form a roux.
4. Gradually add milk and cream, whisking constantly until thickened.
5. Stir in fontina, gruyere, and cheddar, melting completely.
6. Fold in mushrooms, truffle butter, and cooked pasta.
7. Place into baking dish, top with panko and parmesan.
8. Broil 2–3 minutes until golden. Finish with truffle oil and serve.
Notes
Use freshly grated cheese for a smoother sauce.
Add pancetta or crispy prosciutto for extra depth.
Can be made ahead and reheated gently.
