Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounce spaghetti sauce
  • 1 tablespoon garlic and herb seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 15 ounce cottage cheese or ricotta
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounce Boursin cheese or cream cheese
  • 4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 24 ounce frozen cheese ravioli

Instructions

1. Start by browning the ground beef and Italian sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. Once the meat is cooked through, add the diced onion and minced garlic. Sauté the mixture until the onions are translucent and the garlic is fragrant, then drain any excess grease.

2. Next, stir the spaghetti sauce, garlic and herb seasoning, Italian seasoning, sugar, black pepper, and salt into the skillet with the meat and aromatics. Allow the sauce to simmer on low heat while you prepare the cheese layer.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cottage cheese (or ricotta), sour cream, Parmesan, Boursin (or cream cheese), and 1 cup of shredded mozzarella. Mix the ingredients until they are well incorporated and the mixture is mostly smooth.

4. Preheat your oven to 400°F. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread 1/3 of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer half of the frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce, then spread half of the cheese mixture over the ravioli. Repeat the layers, topping with the remaining meat sauce and 3 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.

5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove the foil and continue baking for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown and bubbly.

Notes

Optional: A sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley or basil adds a touch of vibrant color and freshness to the final dish.
