One Pot Creamy Cajun Sausage Pasta is a creamy, saucy pasta dish inspired by Cajun cuisine, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 12 ounce smoked sausage
- 8 ounce pasta
- 2 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper, optional
- 1 cup fresh spinach, optional
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Start by slicing the smoked sausage and cooking it in a large skillet or pot over medium heat with the olive oil until browned. Remove the sausage from the pot and set it aside.
2. In the same pot or skillet, sauté the diced bell peppers and onions until they are softened and fragrant.
3. Stir in the pasta, chicken broth, heavy cream, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (if using). Bring the mixture to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and the sauce has thickened.
4. Return the cooked sausage to the pot and stir in the fresh spinach (if using) until it’s wilted. Finally, mix in the shredded Parmesan cheese and season with salt and pepper to taste.
5. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Consider using lower-fat sausage, whole grain pasta, and reducing the amount of heavy cream or cheese to make the dish healthier.
