Ingredients
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 20 ounce frozen shredded hashbrowns, thawed
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2–3 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
1. Cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully browned, then drain any excess fat.
2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, thawed hashbrowns, onion, cheese, flour, eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well incorporated.
3. Heat 2-3 cup of vegetable oil in a large pot or deep skillet to 350°F.
4. Scoop the sausage hashbrown mixture into small balls or patties and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes per side.
5. Drain the fried sausage hashbrown appetizers on paper towels and serve them warm.
