Description
Shrimp Asparagus Stir Fry is a quick, flavor-packed dinner that combines tender shrimp, crisp asparagus, and aromatic seasonings for a satisfying and nutritious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 cup snap peas, trimmed
- 3 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice or noodles, for serving
- Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
1. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with the water and set aside.
2. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
3. Add the shrimp to the hot oil, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, or until they’re pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
4. In the same skillet, add the garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds. Then, add the asparagus, bell pepper, and snap peas. Stir-fry for 4–5 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender-crisp.
5. Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet. Pour in the soy sauce and oyster sauce (if using). Stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook for an additional 1–2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
6. Serve the Shrimp Asparagus Stir Fry hot over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, if desired.
Notes
Choose fresh shrimp that have been peeled and deveined.
Prep all ingredients beforehand to ensure a smooth cooking process.
Don’t overcrowd the skillet to avoid steaming rather than stir-frying.
