Description

Slow Cooker Garlic Butter Beef with Potatoes is the ultimate in comforting, hands-off meals. With its tender beef, creamy potatoes, and mouthwatering garlic-butter sauce, this dish is sure to become a family favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pound beef stew meat
  • 1 1/2 pound baby potatoes, halved if large
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 5 tablespoon butter, cut into pats
  • 1/2 cup beef broth or water
  • 3 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. Start by spraying the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.

2. Add the beef stew meat and baby potatoes to the prepared slow cooker, arranging them in an even layer.

3. Sprinkle the onion soup mix, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper over the meat and potatoes. Then, add the minced garlic and give everything a gentle stir to ensure the seasonings are evenly distributed.

4. Pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the ingredients, then place the pats of butter on top.

5. Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. The beef should be tender and the potatoes cooked through when done.

6. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

For an extra layer of flavor, consider browning the beef in a skillet before adding it to the slow cooker.

Adjust cooking time based on the size and cut of your beef; if not tender after initial cooking, continue cooking on LOW for an additional hour or two.

To prevent mushy potatoes, add them halfway through the cooking time.
