Description
Slow Cooker Pineapple Teriyaki Meatballs are the perfect fusion of sweet, savory, and tender deliciousness. This easy-to-prepare recipe is a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a satisfying main dish that comes together with minimal effort, thanks to the convenience of your trusty slow cooker.
Ingredients
- 2 pound frozen fully cooked meatballs
- 1 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 can (20 ounce) pineapple chunks, drained
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
- Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare the Slow Cooker: Spray the inside of your slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray or use a crockpot liner to ensure easy cleanup.
2. Add the Meatballs: Pour the frozen meatballs into the basin of the slow cooker. There’s no need to thaw them first.
3. Add the Sauce and Pineapple: Pour the teriyaki sauce over the meatballs. Drain the pineapple chunks and add them on top. Gently stir to coat the meatballs evenly with the sauce.
4. Cook: Cover and cook on HIGH for 2.5-3 hours or LOW for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally, until the meatballs are heated through and the sauce has thickened.
5. Serve: Garnish the slow cooker pineapple teriyaki meatballs with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired. Serve them hot as an appetizer at parties or as a main dish over steamed rice for an easy weeknight dinner.
Notes
For a healthier twist, you can opt for turkey or plant-based meatballs and use a low-sodium teriyaki sauce to reduce the overall sodium content.
