Description
Slow Cooker Sticky Honey Chicken is an easy-to-prepare dish combining tender chicken with a honey-infused sauce, perfect for feeding a crowd or a satisfying weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 2 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoon cornstarch (optional)
- Garnishes: sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. Place the boneless, skinless chicken thighs in the bottom of your slow cooker.
2. In a bowl, combine the honey, soy sauce, ketchup, minced garlic, rice vinegar, ground ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until well-blended.
3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring all pieces are well-coated.
4. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is tender and the sauce has thickened.
5. If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken and whisk cornstarch with some water in a separate bowl. Add this slurry to the sauce in the slow cooker and cook on high for an additional 15 minutes.
6. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks to soak up more sauce.
7. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Serve over white rice or noodles. Pair with roasted vegetables or a fresh salad.
