Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 small head green cabbage, chopped
- 14 ounce petite diced tomatoes
- 6 ounce tomato paste
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 cup water
Instructions
1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion until the beef is no longer pink. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
2. Stir in the dried thyme, parsley, red pepper flakes, and kosher salt to the cooked beef mixture. Remove the pan from the heat.
3. Chop the green cabbage into bite-sized pieces, ready to layer in the slow cooker.
4. Add half of the chopped cabbage to the bottom of the slow cooker. Top with half of the beef mixture, followed by half of the diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Repeat the layers.
5. Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce and water over the top of the layered ingredients.
6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the cabbage is tender and the flavors have melded together.
