Description
Stuffed peppers have long been a beloved comfort food, but this recipe takes the classic to new heights. By infusing the filling with the beloved flavors of a classic cheeseburger, we’ve created a dish that’s both satisfying and unique. The combination of the sweet, crisp bell pepper with the savory, indulgent stuffing is simply irresistible.
Ingredients
4 large bell peppers
1 lb lean ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Add the diced onion and sauté until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is translucent.
2. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and mustard, mixing well. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
3. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon until well combined and the cheese is melted.
4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove seeds and membranes.
5. Spoon the beef mixture into the bell peppers, dividing evenly.
6. Place peppers in a baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 minutes to brown the tops.
Notes
These Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburger Peppers are not only a flavor-packed dish but also a nutritious one. The bell peppers provide a good source of vitamins and antioxidants, while the lean ground beef and bacon offer a satisfying protein boost. For dietary restrictions, use ground turkey or plant-based meat, and swap in low-fat or dairy-free cheese.
