Description
Air Fryer Crispy Sweet Chili Chicken Wings are coated in a luscious sweet chili sauce that perfectly balances heat and sweetness, making them irresistible. Air frying gives these wings an incredible crispy texture without the excess oil that comes with traditional frying methods. Juicy, tender chicken wings that are delightfully crunchy on the outside.
Ingredients
- 2 pound chicken wings
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
- 2 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Start with the chicken wings: pat them dry with paper towels.
2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper if desired. Stir well until blended. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
4. Place the marinated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through. Ensure internal temperature reaches at least 165°F.
5. If wings aren’t crispy enough, return to air fryer for an additional 3-5 minutes.
Notes
Consider serving with celery and carrot sticks or dips like ranch or blue cheese dressing. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in air fryer or oven at 350°F for about 10-15 minutes.
