Description

Apple Pie Cake is a delightful comfort dessert that brings the warm and cozy flavors of traditional apple pie into a soft, moist cake. This remarkable recipe, rich in spiced apple goodness, evokes a sense of nostalgia and warmth, often making it a family favorite during the fall season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon butter, melted

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into thin wedges. Set them aside.

3. In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir to ensure even distribution.

4. In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar for about 3 minutes until light and fluffy.

5. Beat in each egg one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract.

6. Alternately add the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting with one-third of the flour mixture.

7. Layer half the apple slices at the bottom of the prepared pan, pour half of the cake batter over the apples, then repeat with remaining apples and batter.

8. Combine brown sugar and melted butter in a small bowl, then sprinkle over the top of the cake.

9. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Avoid overmixing to prevent a dense cake.

Ensure apples are tender but not mushy for best texture.

Store covered at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for a week.
