Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 (32 oz) bag frozen tater tots
- ¼ cup ketchup
- ¼ cup mustard
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. Cook the Beef & Vegetables
In a large skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 7-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
3. Season the Mixture
Sprinkle in the salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Stir well.
4. Incorporate Sauces
Add the ketchup and mustard to the mixture and stir until combined.
5. Layer the Tater Tots
Spread the frozen tater tots evenly over the beef mixture in the skillet.
6. Cheese Topping
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top of the tater tots.
7. Bake the Casserole
Bake for 25-30 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
8. Finish with Bacon & Parsley
Sprinkle the crumbled bacon and fresh parsley on top before serving.
