Description
Bacon-wrapped green bean bundles are a simple yet impressive side dish that combines the sweet, savory, and crispy flavors of tender green beans, brown sugar, and crisp bacon. This easy recipe is perfect for holidays, special occasions, or anytime you want to elevate your veggie game.
Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 slices bacon
- 3 tablespoon butter, melted
- 2 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and lightly grease it.
2. Blanch the green beans in boiling salted water for 2–3 minutes until just tender-crisp, then transfer them to an ice bath. Drain the beans and pat them completely dry.
3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
4. Toss the dried green beans in the butter mixture to coat them evenly.
5. Make bundles of 6–8 green beans. Wrap each bundle with 1 slice of bacon, placing the seam side down on the prepared baking sheet.
6. Brush any remaining butter mixture over the tops of the bundles.
7. Bake the bacon-wrapped green bean bundles for 15–20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the beans are tender.
8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and serve the bundles warm.
Notes
For the crispiest bacon, choose a thinner-cut variety.
To ensure the bacon gets crispy, make sure to place the bundles seam-side down on the baking sheet.
