Description

Creamy mac and cheese meets tender BBQ brisket in this ultimate comfort food bowl, topped with crispy panko and smoky drizzle.


Ingredients

2 cups elbow or cavatappi pasta

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp flour

2 cups milk

1 cup sharp cheddar, shredded

1/2 cup smoked gouda, shredded

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

2 cups cooked brisket, sliced or shredded

1/3 cup BBQ sauce

1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs

2 tbsp butter (for breadcrumbs)

Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.

2. Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and whisk 1 min.

3. Slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Cook until thickened.

4. Stir in cheeses, Dijon, garlic powder, and paprika.

5. Fold in cooked pasta; season with salt and pepper.

6. In a pan, melt 2 tbsp butter and toast panko until golden.

7. Warm brisket and toss with BBQ sauce.

8. Assemble bowls: mac base, brisket on top.

9. Finish with breadcrumbs; serve hot.

Notes

Use smoked cheddar for extra depth.

Swap brisket for pulled pork if desired.
