Description
Crispy High-Protein Bacon Cheeseburger Stuffed Mushrooms offer an exciting way to enjoy a beloved classic while packing a punch of protein and flavor. They’re perfect for busy families looking for a satisfying meal or for entertaining guests at gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large portobello mushrooms
- 1 pound ground turkey or lean beef
- 4 slices bacon
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Chopped green onions
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. Clean your portobello mushrooms with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and arrange the mushroom caps on a baking sheet, hollow side up.
3. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add your choice of ground turkey or beef. Sauté until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
4. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked meat with crumbled bacon, cream cheese, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well incorporated.
5. Generously fill each mushroom cap with the meat mixture.
6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is bubbly and golden.
7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
Serve alongside a fresh salad, roasted vegetables, or crispy sweet potato fries. A cold beer or refreshing iced tea pairs well with these stuffed mushrooms.
