Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup cooking spray
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
1. Marinate the chicken by combining buttermilk and hot sauce in a bowl, then add chicken tenders and let marinate for at least one hour.
2. Prepare the coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper in another bowl.
3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for about 5 minutes.
4. Remove chicken from the marinade, dredge in the flour mixture, and place in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly spray with cooking spray and air fry for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through.
5. While chicken is cooking, make the Nashville hot sauce by heating vegetable oil and stirring in cayenne pepper, brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, and salt. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
6. After cooking, toss chicken tenders with the Nashville hot sauce until well-coated.
Notes
Serve with coleslaw, pickles, or ranch dressing. Can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
