Description
The Easy Cheesy Bacon BBQ Stromboli is a delicious roll combining BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, and crispy bacon, perfect for game days and family dinners.
Ingredients
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced red onions
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
2. Roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
3. Spread the BBQ sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle on the mozzarella cheese, crumbled bacon, and sliced red onions.
4. Sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning over the filling.
5. Starting from one edge, roll the dough into a tight log and seal the edges.
6. Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
7. Make a few diagonal slits on top of the stromboli.
8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
9. Let cool slightly, slice into portions, and serve with extra BBQ sauce.
Notes
Using fresh ingredients enhances flavor and texture. Customize with jalapeños or different cheeses. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge.
