Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound shredded chicken
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
2. 2. In a large skillet, heat the butter and olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and sugar, cooking until caramelized, about 20-25 minutes.
3. 3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
4. 4. In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, orzo, heavy cream, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well.
5. 5. Fold in the caramelized onions and pour the mixture into a greased casserole dish.
