Mangonada: A Refreshing and Spicy Mango Slush Delight

  • Author: MastertheKitchen
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x

Description

Mangonada is a delicious blend of frozen mango, lime, and chamoy sauce that offers a unique mix of sweetness, tanginess, and spice. It’s the perfect refreshing treat for hot summer days!

Ingredients

Scale

2 cups Frozen Mango Chunks

1/2 cup Cold Water or Mango Nectar

1/4 cup Fresh Lime Juice

2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar (adjust to taste)

4 tablespoons Chamoy Sauce (divided)

1 tablespoon Tajín (Chili-Lime Seasoning, for rim and garnish)

Optional: Fresh mango cubes and tamarind candy stick for garnish

Instructions

1. Prepare the glasses by swiping the rims with a wedge of lime, then dipping each rim in Tajín to create a flavorful rim.

2. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of chamoy sauce down the inside walls of each prepared glass.

3. In a blender, combine the frozen mango chunks, cold water (or mango nectar), fresh lime juice, and sugar. Blend until smooth and slushy, being careful not to over-blend.

4. Pour half of the mango slush mixture into the prepared glasses. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of chamoy sauce over each portion.

5. Sprinkle a pinch of Tajín over the chamoy-drizzled slush, then add the remaining mango slush mixture on top.

6. Finish with an additional drizzle of chamoy sauce and a light dusting of Tajín. Garnish with fresh mango cubes and a tamarind candy stick if desired.

7. Serve immediately with wide straws for sipping.

Notes

For an alcoholic version, add a splash of tequila or rum to the mango slush.

For a vegan option, use coconut water or almond milk and substitute sugar with a natural sweetener like agave.

Feel free to experiment with other fruit purees for a unique twist on the classic Mangonada.
