Description

Mini Meatball Pasta is a fantastic choice for a delicious weeknight dinner that your whole family will adore! This dish combines the hearty satisfaction of homemade meatballs with the comforting texture of pasta, all enveloped in a rich marinara sauce and topped with gooey mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounce pasta (your choice)
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

1. 1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in your pasta of choice and cook it according to the package instructions until al dente. Once done, drain the pasta and set it aside.

2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef or turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix these ingredients thoroughly until everything is well combined.

3. 3. With clean hands, roll the mixture into small meatballs, aiming for about 1 inch in diameter.

4. 4. Heat a dash of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and cook until they are browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

5. 5. In the same skillet, pour in your marinara sauce and gently add the cooked meatballs. Allow this mixture to simmer for about 5 minutes.

6. 6. Introduce the prepared pasta to the skillet, gently tossing everything together to ensure that every bit of pasta is coated in the sauce.

7. 7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top of the pasta and meatballs. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for a few minutes until the cheese melts.

Notes

For best results, ensure your meat mixture is not overworked to keep the meatballs tender. Use cold hands when rolling them to prevent heating the fat in the meat.
