This delicious dish offers a delightful symphony of flavors and textures that are hard to resist—from the warmth of the baked feta to the sweet heat of the chili honey sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 ounce feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 16 sheets frozen phyllo dough, thawed
- Olive oil for brushing
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red chili flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 3 tablespoon honey
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Combine the crumbled feta cheese, chopped fresh dill, and grated garlic in a mixing bowl. Stir well until evenly blended and creamy.
3. Take one sheet of thawed phyllo dough and lay it flat. Brush it lightly with olive oil. Fold the phyllo in half to create a double layer.
4. Place a heaping tablespoon of the feta mixture along the short edge of the folded phyllo. Roll it up tightly into a compact log, tucking in the sides as you go.
5. Continue filling and rolling with the remaining phyllo sheets and feta mixture until all ingredients are used.
6. Brush the tops of all rolls with olive oil. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Notes
When working with phyllo dough, keep the sheets covered with a damp cloth to prevent drying out. If a sheet tears, overlap pieces when rolling.
