Ingredients
- 2 pound beef stew meat
- 1 packet brown gravy mix
- 1 packet au jus mix
- 1 packet onion soup mix (optional)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup beef broth
- 10 ounce egg noodles
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, optional
Instructions
1. Add to Slow Cooker: Place the beef, brown gravy mix, au jus mix, onion soup mix if using, diced onion, water, and beef broth into the slow cooker. Stir to combine.
2. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, until the beef is very tender.
3. Shred or Stir: If using roast, shred the beef. If using stew meat, stir and break it up slightly.
4. Cook the Noodles: Cook the egg noodles separately according to package directions, then drain.
5. Combine: Stir the cooked noodles into the beef mixture or serve the beef and gravy over the noodles.
6. Serve: Season with salt and black pepper if needed, garnish with parsley if desired, and serve warm.
Notes
For a richer sauce, stir in sour cream or cream cheese towards the end of cooking. A splash of red wine or Worcestershire sauce can deepen flavors. Adding vegetables like carrots or peas can enhance nutrition.
