Description

These Sweet and Savory Brown Sugar Beef Bacon Kielbasa Bites promise a delightful combination of flavors that will wow your guests. Perfect for parties, gatherings, or even a cozy night in, these bites feature a sweet glaze and the smoky goodness of beef bacon wrapped around savory kielbasa.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound beef kielbasa sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 12 slices beef bacon, cut in half
  • Toothpicks for securing
  • 1 1/2 cup dark brown sugar, packed
  • 3 tablespoon Dijon or stone-ground mustard
  • 3 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

1. In a small saucepan, combine the dark brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar.

2. Over medium heat, whisk the mixture constantly until the sugar completely dissolves. You’ll notice the glaze beginning to bubble.

3. Once it bubbles, remove the saucepan from heat.

4. Stir in the ground black pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and honey to add depth and sweetness.

5. Start by preheating your oven to 375°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top, spraying it with non-stick cooking spray.

6. Wrap each piece of kielbasa with a half slice of beef bacon, ensuring it’s snug around the sausage.

7. Use a toothpick to secure the bacon in place, pushing it through the center and placing the bite seam side down on the wire rack.

8. Using a pastry brush, generously coat each bacon-wrapped kielbasa bite with the brown sugar glaze, covering all sides.

9. Transfer the bites to the preheated oven and bake for 40 to 45 minutes.

10. During baking, baste the bites with extra glaze every 10 to 15 minutes. This step is crucial for achieving a deep caramelization on the bacon.

Notes

Consider using organic or nitrate-free options for a healthier twist. Allow the bites to cool on the rack for 10 minutes before transferring them to a serving platter.
