Description

A flavorful variation of Stromboli that combines creamy cheese with jalapeños and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pickled jalapeños, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.

2. On a floured surface, roll out your pizza dough into a large rectangle.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, chopped jalapeños, crumbled bacon, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.

4. Evenly spread the cheese mixture over the dough, leaving about an inch of space along the edges.

5. Starting from one long side, carefully roll the dough into a log, tucking in the sides as you go.

6. Pinch the seams tightly to seal off the filling and place the roll seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

7. Brush the top of the Stromboli with beaten egg and make a few slits on top to allow steam to escape.

8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.

9. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into pieces.

10. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro and serve.
